South Island Holiday travelogue (38k).
I invite you to explore the links, and build a picture of one fellow's
life in New Zealand, planet Earth. In this country I have the liberty to
be a professional while following my sometimes unusual chosen pursuits
after hours. Close to where I live are native forest reserves, stark mountains,
long sandy beaches, the Pacific Ocean, and Wellington
city centre with arts, shopping and interesting people. My pastimes
reflect these opportunities.
Who am I?
That's a good question to meditate on! (Try it on yourself)
More conventional answer: My name is Kieron. I live in Wellington,
New Zealand, where my wife,
Christina
,
and I enjoy an active and independent lifestyle. We dance, sing, walk,
philosophise.
My life draws sustenance from many fertile ancient traditions; it is
energised by the rich diversity of nature experienced close-up; and it
is honed by clear thinking and insight (I hope!).
I am a graduate in Engineering Science. I work with people to improve
how their businesses tick. My experience is in the food industry, which
has recently extended to the electricity industry. I worked as a soils
technician for 4 years before completing my degree.
I have Irish ancestors from County Cork, and Scottish ones, MacIlwraith
(MacDonald of the Isles, I believe).
Hear me speak
Warning: this is entirely silly.

If asked what I dream of doing, I would say "improving operations, business
processes and systems in companies seeking world-class performance in an
intelligent and real way within a climate that supports family values."
I enjoy working for organisations which value their people and processes
as being integral and necessary to superior customer service. Such organisations
are seeking to improve business processes, make systems more sensible,
and reduce wastage.
My key strengths are the ability to translate complexity into something
understandable, creativity, and the ability to be a team player while being
self-motivated.
Skills lie in business analysis, modelling and simulation, statistics,
operations research, IT testing, and writing successful documentation.
My principal experience is testing software, business analysis, improving
planning, scheduling, and manufacturing processes, and writing documentation
within ISO9001 certified companies. Recently I've been rigorously
testing software in the electricity industry.
